1967 Bolton Street School of Architecture.

Ballagh draws inspiration from the land and the language of Ireland. The inclusion of textural elements found in the landscape is extremely important to his work. The intention is that the viewer will engage with something more mythical and symbolic than simply the picturesque. Ballagh is member of Aosdána and has been a member of the Arts Council, the advisory committee of the Hugh Lane Municipal Gallery of Modern Art and the committee of the Irish Exhibition of Living Art. Ballagh has designed theatre sets for several major shows such as 'Riverdance.' He has also designed Irish postage stamps and banknotes. File contains newspaper clippings, press releases, catalogues, images of the artist's work and pricelist.
