W.B. Yeats is best known as a poet but he was also involved in the world of visual art. He studied at the Metroplitan College of Art. He was a governor of the National Gallery of Ireland from 1924 until his death and he was a champion of the Hugh Lane Municipal Gallery in Dublin.
