Scope and Content

A hardback book with a grey cover containing photographic images taken by the artist while swimming in rivers and the sea and text by Maeve-Ann Austen, Denis Kehoe, Alice Butler, Katherine Maurer and Declan Long. This book is accompanied by three stapled booklets 'This is your normal', 'Swimming in Ballycroy' and 'The History of the Slippery Pole'. Each of the booklets contain text and drawings. Each of them deal with the theme of swimming in unusual or extreme circumstances - swimming in a frozen river, swimming in Ballycroy bog and a slippery pole competition - as a way of experincing what it means to be alive.
