"'The Eaters' (2021) is a multi-media publication that acts as a vessel for the examination of a post-colonial Irish identity. Informed by place-making theory, the book and sound installation attempts to melt the boundaries of time and space in order to raise questions of complaisance with Irish society, while others are being oppressed.
This work is based within the disparate past and present of Milltown, Co. Dublin. Through prose, poetry, photography ad projection, together with gifted handwritten and aural recipes by people who have experienced living in Direct Provision, The Eaters uses the experience of eating and cooking as a means of grounding the body throughout its inquiry into Irish complaisance. It serves to illuminate the places that persist despite the cultural colonisation led by neoliberal globalisation, and gestures towards a counter-occupation of space within 'place'."

This book was made while the artist was an NCAD Sculpture student.
