Notes
Kiely spent two years working in New York and London with graphic design and architectural companies. She began painting full-time in 1985. Drawing inspiration from movement and light, her thick impasto abstract paintings are rooted in figurative studies of landscape, particularly the rivers and coastal areas of the south of Ireland. A teacher at the Grennan Mill Craft School, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny, Kiely has exhibited extensively in major group shows in Ireland. She became a member of Aosdána in 2007. Her work is represented in many prestigious public and private collections. File contains newspaper clippings, press releases, catalogues and images of the artist's work.
