Scope and Content
The collection of posters at NIVAL has been compiled during the past thirty years through donation, deposit and purchase from a variety of sources including artists and designers, printers, galleries, private collectors and at public auctions.
The Poster Collection documents the broad scope of methods and styles applied to the creation large scale advertising material in Ireland. The collection includes letterpress prints, lithographs, screen prints, drawn and printed by hand, digital prints, and hand-drawn and printed items. There are unique items, limited editions, mass produced materials; posters of exceptional historical value and quality, as well as ephemera.
NIVAL's acquisition of posters is ongoing and includes both contemporary and historic prints.
