Scope and Content

Throughout their eighty-five year history, the Friends of the National Collections have documented their acquisitions on slide film to facilitate scholarly research and reproduction. A selection of the original slides has been digitised to create the FNCI Image Gallery, an online collection of approximately 100 images that provides a window into the richness and diversity of the FNCI Collection. The quality of the images varies in accordance with the conditions of the original photographic slides. A project initiated by the FNCI to improve the collection of images through digital photography is underway.
