An Bord
As an initiative of the National College of Art & Design, NIVAL is governed by the board of NCAD (An Bord), appointed by the Minister for Education and managed by the College Management Team. Current members are:

| Aoife McInerney | 2025 | Aoife McInerney is a design educator and graphic designer with an accomplished career spanning over two decades. She honed her expertise through diverse roles, including nearly ten years at the renowned Natural History Museum in London, where she was instrumental in content dissemination and design direction. | Siobhán Moriarty MacDonnell | 2025 | Chairperson Designate – Siobhán Moriarty is the former General Counsel and Company Secretary of Diageo plc. She joined Diageo in 1997, becoming General Counsel and joining the Executive Committee in 2013. She is recognised as having been instrumental in Diageo’s evolution from formation in 1997, bringing commercial focus to the legal remit and making a valuable contribution to its long-term success. | Dr Carole Pollard | 2025 | Dr Carole Pollard is a registered architect, architectural historian and past president of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI). She is a graduate of DIT (now TU Dublin) and holds a masters from NCAD and a PhD from UCD. Read more here. |

Governance
