Visiting NIVAL
Book a visit to our Reading Room to explore our free, public access collections.
NIVAL maintains a policy of maximum accessibility to our collections, consistent with the preservation of materials and the practical and legal limitations on our resources.
We are open to the public and access to the collection is free and without membership.
We are open for appointments on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 to 17:00 during term time and with early closure during summer months. Please book ahead – access is strictly by appointment only to ensure every researcher is properly accommodated.
Material is reference only. NIVAL staff are available for assistance and advice on how best to use the resources. Please read our Reading Room guidelines before your first visit. The premises are fully wheelchair accessible.

There are no car parking facilities at NIVAL. Deliveries have access to an NCAD loading bay with prior arrangement.
